Year 5 & 6 Permission To Walk Home Alone
Dear Parent/Carer,
I understand the need for children in Years 5 and 6 to begin to develop their independence as part of their preparation for secondary school.
Please can parents who are happy for their child to walk home alone complete the questionnaire below.
I strongly advise children in other year groups not to walk home alone. We will not let children go home alone at the end of the day unless we have received written permission.
Here are a few things that you may wish to discuss with your child:
- Do not walk alone.
- Stick to a well-lit and used route.
- Wear bright/reflective clothing.
- Be vigilant at all times.
Written permission must be submitted to the School Office if you wish for younger siblings to go home with their siblings in Year 5 and 6.
N.B: Children in Nursery, Reception and Year 1 class will need to be collected by an adult, preferably aged 16 and above.
